Catherine is a leading contemporary garden designer, London based, who has built a reputation over the last 15 years for creating innovative and inspiring gardens in London, around the UK and abroad. She is a Registered Member and former Vice Chair of the Society of Garden Designers; the leading UK professional body for garden design. Her gardens are contemporary in their essence and yet retain an understanding and appreciation of traditional designs and techniques. These design elements run through her work and are complemented by her love of plants, evident in the sweeps of lush or dramatic planting.

Catherine Heatherington and Alex Johnson's wildlife garden at Flatford Mill is open again after the winter. The new visitors' centre is being constructed and will also be open later this year.

Catherine and Alex launched Design Wild Associates this year to focus on their expertise in designing wildlife gardens.

Catherine Heatherington and landscape architect Alex Johnson's wildlife garden for the RSPB at Flatford Mill in Suffolk was opened this summer by the author Ronald Blythe.
